Case Study: Finding Floofy
She’d used direct mail to sell houses. Then she used it to find her cat.
“I only wish I had thought of it earlier”

Floofy went missing while Naomi’s family was staying at their vacation home. There was a clock on the search, they were due back home so their daughter could start school.
She tried what most people try. Shelters. Neighbors. Facebook. Drones. Scent-tracking dogs. Then her sister, on a phone call, mentioned real estate postcards.
Naomi had worked in real estate and used direct mail there. She’d never thought to use it to find a pet.
“I liked that I could choose the postal route and eliminate areas that I didn’t think he had made it to.”
Instead of blanketing a whole ZIP code, she mailed only the neighborhoods Floofy could realistically have reached.
Then the calls started.
“I did get a lot of calls and leads from it. Way more than I had gotten before. I do believe it helped spread awareness and only wish that I had thought of it earlier in the process.”
Floofy turned up three miles away, letting himself through a dog door and eating another cat’s food. The homeowner had been on vacation, which is the part Naomi keeps coming back to:
“If she hadn’t have been out of town on vacation she probably would’ve seen the postcard.”
The mail reached the right street. The person who needed to read it was in another state.
Would she recommend it?
“Yes I would. In fact, I used other services like drones and scent tracking dogs (yes I’m crazy) and honestly I would recommend this over either of those.”
Choose your routes and get your postcards out.
